Larry Colliver Obituary

Larry Richard Colliver, 84, previously of St. Joseph, MO, died Friday, January 16, 2026, at his home in Smithville, MO, surrounded by his family.

He was born February 28, 1941, in Tina, MO to Ralph and Lois (Wright) Colliver.

He graduated from Tina-Avalon High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1966. For 19 years he was a member of Electrical Union 545, working for several electrical contractors in St. Joseph and Kansas City, including Murray Electric in Chillicothe, MO. He retired in 2001 after 17 years as Project Supervisor for Nestle - Friskie's Pet Care Division.

On August 12, 1962, he married Joan Kay (Murray) Colliver. She preceded him in death, on April 20, 2014.

He was a Christian, a loving husband, a great father, devoted grandfather, great-grandfather, and a wonderful friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his sister, Rosalee Callahan of Raymore, MO; two daughters, Tammie (Darrell) Jones of Smithville, MO and Tracie (Kevin) Moss of Vista, CA; five granddaughters, Nikki (Royce), Ashley (John), Becky (Andrew), Libby (Josh), and Emma (Jared); 13 great-grandchildren, Cole, Gracie, Joanie, Vaughn, Lucy, Charlotte, Annie, Francie, Lani, Dolly, Sophie, Goldie, Olivia; and two nieces and two nephews.

Farewell Services and Public Livestream 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 28, Grace Calvary Chapel. Private Inurnment at a later date. The family will gather with friends 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care or your local American Legion Post.
