Larry Eugene Davis, age 74 of Chadbourn, entered into the gates of Heaven on Monday, January 23, 2023, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Larry was born on January 12, 1949 to the late Eugene George Davis Sr. and Elgerie Britt Davis. He was also preceded in death by step-mother, Elouise Carter Davis; brothers, Terry Davis, Edward Gillard, Ronnie Gillard, Wayne Gillard, and sister Ann Gillard.
Funeral services will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 27, 2023 at Worthington Funeral Home, with Pastor Willard McPherson officiating.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-4:45, prior to the service on Friday, at the funeral home.
Larry was owner and operator of New and Used Tires in Whiteville and Extreme Tire in Wilmington, until his retirement.
Survivors include his loving wife of 54 years, Barbara Ann Grainger Davis of the home; children Larry Brian Davis (Katrina) of Whiteville and Angela Denise Davis (Caleb) of Mt. Holly, NC; siblings Bill Davis (Jane) of Moncure, Gene Davis (Barbara) of Lake Waccamaw, Sammy Carter (Susan) of Little River, SC, Gary Davis (Tamara) of Oak Island, Rick Davis (Paul) of Durham, Sammy Gillard of Fayetteville, Brenda Shrake of Charlotte, Elaine Meares (W.C.) of Cerro Gordo, Carolyn Davis of Lumberton; brother in-law, Jimmy Grainger (Penny) of Lake Waccamaw; sister in-law Linda Nance of Darlington, SC; grandchildren Brent Davis, Blake Davis, Davis Butler and Bridger Butler.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his name, can be made to Liberty Hospice Services in Whiteville.
