Larry Wayne Decker Sr., age 81, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at the Medical Center in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Born on Wednesday, September 13, 1944, in the Woodbury community of Butler County, KY.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, John and Iona Burden Decker, and his siblings, Virginia Sturn, William "Buddy" Decker, and Willodean Carter. His memory will be forever held in the hearts of those he leaves behind, his devoted wife of 61 years, Aline Decker of Morgantown, Kentucky, whom he married on December 19, 1964. His legacy continues through his two sons, Larry Wayne Decker Jr. (Susan) and Patrick Wayne Decker (Jerri), all of Morgantown, KY; his grandchildren, Grace Lawrence (Dakota) and Lydia Decker; his step-grandchildren, Eric Keown and Michael Keown (Jessica); and his dear sister, Faye Milam of Smiths Grove, KY and several nieces and nephews.
Larry was a man of the Baptist faith, his professional life was marked by his role as a Warehouse Manager for the Nolan Company, where he was respected for his work ethic and leadership. Larry's interests painted the picture of a man who loved the simple pleasures in life. He found joy in watching Westerns, fishing and bird hunting. Those who knew Larry would describe him as adventurous, interesting, and a handyman.
Funeral services will be held at the Jones Funeral Chapel Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at 1:00pm with Bro. Larry Cardwell and Bro. Mitch Ash officiating. Burial will be in the Riverview Cemetery where his family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 from 9:30am until funeral time at 1:00pm at the Jones Funeral Chapel.
