Larry Dunham Obituary

LARRY DUNHAM

July 12, 1941 March 6, 2023

Port Charlotte Larry Dunham passed away on March 6, 2023 in Port Charlotte, FL. Larry was born to Robert and Ruth Dunham in Seminole, OK and moved to Bakersfield, CA in his early years. He graduated from Bakersfield High School where he played varsity football, continuing his education at Bakersfield College and San Jose State College where he earned a Bachelor's degree.

Larry was a successful businessman, having owned and run a restaurant supply company in downtown Bakersfield. But his true love was golf. He was an active member at Bakersfield Country Club and played competitively in many tournaments throughout Kern county. In the early 1990's he retired to Florida, where he continued to enjoy the game in a more temperate climate.

Larry is survived by his children Justin Dunham of Kansas City, Cecily Dunham of Phoenix, and Matthew Dunham of Santa Barbara, as well as grandchildren Logan, Ridgely, and Aspen.

In grammar school we loved Larry, always smiling, and sorry about his eye. At least he had lots of great hair slicked down in the cool duck tail style. He sat on the other side of the classroom. Of course I cheered for him at football games. I was very happy to find him at the 2019 reunion. A fine person I think we will see again.
