Larry Edward Ehrsam, born on June 16, 1937, in Pawnee City, Nebraska, departed this life on September 23, 2025, in Topeka, Kansas, surrounded by the love of his wife.
He graduated from Bern High School and furthered his education at Clark's School of Business, laying a strong foundation for his professional life. A proud and active community member, Larry found joy in numerous affiliations. He cherished his long-standing connection with Grace United Methodist Church, Santa Fe BNSF Retiree Group, and the Shawnee County Landlords’ Guild. His penchant for camaraderie was evident in his involvement with the Prime Timers and his esteemed membership in the Masonic Lodge and Scottish Rites for over 50 years.
Larry was a man of simple pleasures, deeply enamored with his family, who was central to his life. He took immense joy in nurturing his garden, passionately cultivating flowers that bloomed as vibrantly as his heart. Larry loved to travel, with Hawaii holding a special place in his memories. Larry enjoyed attending community concerts and different theater shows with his family.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Evelyn Ehrsam; daughter, Kate (Jeff) Roades; son, Ken (Lori) Ehrsam; grandchildren, Courtney (Eric) Morris, Rachel Roades, Jamie Ehrsam, and Joey Ehrsam; as well as his great-grandchild, Caysen Morris and one great-grandson on the way, all of whom he cherished. Larry was preceded in death by his father, Edward Ehrsam; mother, Mabel Ehrsam; and sister, Erma Baugh.
The void he leaves behind will be felt profoundly, but his spirit will persist through the countless memories shared among family and friends.
