Larry Austin Fenska

Larry Austin Fenska passed away on November 28, 2025, at the age of 81 in Grand Ledge, Michigan. Born on December 24, 1943, in Lansing, Michigan, Larry was the son of Austin and Myrtle (Down) Fenska, both of whom preceded him in death.
Larry graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1961. He joined the US Army and then served in the Michigan National Guard. He worked at Dick Watson Chevrolet and Capitol Automotive before embarking on a 29 year career at the Lansing Board of Water and Light as a Pole Setter Operator. On March 11, 1972 Larry married Mary Ross and remained by her side until she died on June 22, 2025. After Larry retired from BWL in 1997, he and Mary moved to their new home in Gaylord. While in Gaylord Larry ran a handyman business, a snowmobile and small engine repair business and worked for Star Trucking until retiring in 2023.
Larry had a passion for Nascar, watching the Detroit Lions and Detroit Tiger games, Corvettes - which he owned many, snowmobiling, camping and working in his garage. In the 1960's Larry was successful in drag racing. Larry raced his Chevrolet Impalas to many wins. A lot of his victories came in his 1962 Chevrolet Impala SS 409 that he especially fond of.
Larry is survived by his sons, Michael (Teresa) of Grand Ledge, and Timothy (Kristie) of Delta Township. Eight grandchildren, Mykayla (Kyle Shaw) Fenska, Sydney Fenska, Danika Fenska, Kylee Fenska, Tyler Webb, Canon Cochran, Isabella Fenska, Easton Cochran, and his great-granddaughter, Rae Shaw.
