Larry "June" Fraley, 73 of Morehead, passed away Thursday evening November 28, 2024, in the UK-St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead after an extended illness. He was born June 8, 1951, in Morehead to the late Wilburn and Stella Sloan Fraley.
June was retired from Big Sandy Ready-Mix where he worked as the Plant Foreman. He was of the Christian faith and was a member of the Rowan County Sportsmans Club. He was also involved in Bluegrass music and could play any instrument. He most usually played the banjo and guitar. He had also written several songs. June also enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Purnell Fraley on October 22, 2024, his daughter, Rebecca Fraley in 2010, his brother, Gary Wayne Fraley and a grandchild, Brady Fraley.
Survivors include one son, Randy Fraley (Amy) of Flemingsburg, Kentucky, one daughter, Carla Terry (Chris) of Morehead, two grandchildren, Brett Fraley (Taylor) and Larra Estep, three great-grandchildren, Alayna, Kimber and Anslee, one sister, Sandy Fraley Parmley (Randy) of Ashland, Kentucky and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Sunday, December 1, 2024, in the chapel of the Michael R. Gray Funeral Home in Morehead with Pastor Ron Clatos and Jack Pennington officiating.
Burial will follow in the Earn Purnell Cemetery in Carter County, Kentucky.
Visitation is after 11:00 A.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Randy Fraley, Brett Fraley, Jeremy Purnell, Randy Parmley, Chris Terry, Denny Wilson, Roger "Butch" Hargis and Richard Sloan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions are suggested to the Rowan County Sportsmans Club, P.O. Box 674, Morehead, Kentucky 40351.
