Larry was born on December 28, 1955, in Tuscaloosa, AL to Celia Vines Garner and Billy E. Garner. Larry was a graduate of Tuscaloosa High School in Tuscaloosa, AL. He loved his family and Alabama football. Larry was also an avid angler, participating in many bass fishing competitions over the years. Before retiring, he owned Spirit Auto Sales.
In addition to his father, Billy Garner, Larry is preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Pamela A. Garner, his son Christopher M. Garner, and his brother David C. Garner.
Mr. Garner is survived by his mother, Celia Vines Garner; two stepdaughters Tammy Irey Cherry (Travis) of Pelham, AL and Brandy Irey Walker of Northport, AL; four grandchildren: Amanda Shook (Chase), Zachary Cherry (Shuanda), Shelby Pate, and Zoe Cherry; two great-grandchildren Hayden and Evangeline.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 28, 2026, at Holten Heights Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Blake Mohling officiating.
The family appreciates thoughts and prayers during this time.
In lieu of flowers that family requests that memorial donations in honor of Mr. Garner be made to Holten Heights Church at 4401 17th St NE, Tuscaloosa, AL 35404.
