Larry E. Gilmore

1944 - 2022

Larry E Gilmore, 78, Rapid City, passed away April 18th, 2022 at home.
Larry was born to David and Ada (England) Gilmore on February 11, 1944. He spent most of his life in Rapid City, SD. He graduated from Hill City High School and served in the US Air Force. He also worked for Barber Transportation and retired from the US Forest Service.
Larry married Mary Ann (Richards) Gilmore on June 1st, 1969. They raised two children, Lance and Lindsey. Larry enjoyed spending time with his 3 grandchildren. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and cutting wood. He loved to watch football, especially the Las Vegas Raiders, when he couldn't be outside.
Larry is survived by his wife of 53 years, Mary Ann Gilmore, his children Lance (Vicky) Gilmore, Lindsey Charo, his grandchildren Domi, DeVante and Liam. His brother Bob (Jean) Gilmore and numerous nieces and nephews. A special Thank You to Janet Curtis for her special care and bond with Larry the past few years.
Preceding him in death are his father David Gilmore, mother Ada Rioux, step-father Jasper Rioux, brother Pudge Gilmore and sister Betty Bowers.
Cremation and internment will be at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis SD. A celebration of Larry's life will be held at a later date. A memorial is being established for youth outdoor sports. Cards may be sent to:
