Larry Hahn Obituary

Larry Eugene "Lem" Hahn, 81, of Harrisburg, passed away on August 25, 2025, at Arden Courts in Susquehanna Township.
Born on January 8, 1944, Larry was the son of the late Lawrence and Kathryn (Lerch) Hahn. He grew up in Royalton, Pa., and graduated from Middletown Area High School, Class of 1961. He went on to earn both his Bachelor of Science and Master's degrees in Education from Shippensburg University, where he formed lifelong friendships.
Larry dedicated 38 years to teaching in the Steelton-Highspire School District, first as a fifth-grade teacher and later as the supervisor of the computer classroom. A committed educator, he touched the lives of many students and colleagues. He was also a longtime member of Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church and a resident of Susquehanna Township since 1972.
Larry was always busy. He loved skiing, golfing, attending Penn State football games, gardening, fishing, and spending time at the beach. He especially loved being outdoors. He officiated high school football for 25 years and was a proud member of the Capital Area Chapter of PIAA Football Officials.
He is survived by his wife, Beckey (Conrad) Hahn; daughter, Elizabeth "Betsy" Davison (Andrew); and grandson, Ethan Davison. He is also survived by his sister, Karen Heim (Vernon); brother, Richard Hahn; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Margaret and Glenn Manning; as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and grandnieces and grandnephews.
Larry's family and close friends have been grieving his loss for a number of years. There will be no funeral service at this time, rather a celebration of his life will be held at the convenience of the family.
In Larry's memory, take time to enjoy the things he loved: go skiing, play a round of golf, fish the Susquehanna River, spend a day at the beach, cheer on a football game-or toast him with a Grey Goose or a beer.
His family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Arden Courts for their many acts of kindness to Larry and to us.
Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1801 Colonial Road, Harrisburg, PA 17112; Shippensburg University Foundation, 500 Newburg Road, Shippensburg, PA 17257, or to a charity of your choice.
Arrangements Entrusted to the Care of Central PA Cremation Society, Inc.

My sincere condolences and sympathies to The Hahn family. I had the great privilege of knowing, and working PIAA football games with Larry in the Harrisburg Chapter for many years. He was always prepared, and upbeat regardless of the games situation. Larry made the travel to distant games enjoyable with his positive attitude and sense of humor. Larry was truly an inspiration to all those he met. Larry will surely be missed. God bless Larry and may he rest in peace.

Dear Becky and Family,
Sending my sincere condolence´s condolences to each of you. I had the true pleasure of working as a teacher´s aide one summer in the early 2970s. That is when I met Mr. Hahn and discovered just what a great man he was.
I pray that each of you will know God´s blessings of strength, comfort and consolation at this time of sadness and such great loss.

Rejoice in Paradise Larry, good and faithful servant. One day when I too get called Home by our Lord I may I be blessed once again to see you and know the pure beauty of eternal life with Jesus.

I knew Larry from my time at Steelton Elementary. Such a great guy! I can still see him in the teacher's lounge talking about trapping squirrels. When I asked him where he released them, he said "New Cumberland." He knew that's where I lived! Enjoyed every minute with him.

Another sad day for the passing of Larry Hahn. Larry was a friend and colleague to me and my wife Judy. He was an outstanding teacher and educational leader for the Steelton-Highspire School District. Most of his work in the District was in Highspire and he was loved in that town. I played golf with him for years at Blue Mountain Golf Course and he was a good and competitive golfer. I know he is now in a better place. His race is run and he suffers no more. We will think of him often and he will be missed. Becky and family . . . please know we share your grief on his death.

Larry was a fellow Tau Kappa Epsilon (TKE) brother and we have remained close lifetime brothers since graduating from Ship over 50 years ago. We will always remember and toast him in our future get togethers. Someday we will once again be reunited.
