I had the privilege of getting to know Coach Heathcott when I was in his shop class at White Station Junior High in the late 60s. He was one of the best teachers I ever had. I never became a craftsman, but he helped me learn how to face life's challenges with a positive attitude and a sense of humor.

Great man. Great coach. I had him as my shop teacher. Great memories. Still use some of his teachings in shop doing my woodworking.

Coach was always saying every time he´d see me walking down the hallway at White Station High School, that I should play football. My mom wouldn´t let me, but I always thought it would have been fun to play, knees be dammed! Rest in peace Coach Heathcott.

I didn't play sports while at White Station, but did take "Shop" class. Some of my best memories from high school. Coach was great. Always hearing fellow students talking about him. Keeping some of his lessons in daily life, yea, I am still using the lessons from shop.
