Larry was born on April 27, 1946 and passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018. Larry was a resident of Clarksville, Tennessee at the time of passing. Larry was retired from the U.S. Marines having served 22 ? years; he was the recipient of 3 Purple Hearts, Bronze Star and Good Conduct Metal for which he worked very hard. I met Larry when my son was KIA in Iraq in 2006, but got to know him on Facebook since he and his wife retired to Tennessee. There were times that Larry 's post had me laughing so hard I cried. People with such qualities that Larry exhibited are few and far between. You will be missed Larry. Love and prayers for the family.

Larry was responsible for helping me get started on filing a claim with the VA,as I know he did for many others. God Bless you my friend, you will be sadly missed.

I can only imagine the reunion going on right now in heaven, Larry Helser and Robert "Thunder" Thornton are reunited and are as loud as ever. The two of them are laughing and rejoicing because they made it. Master Gunnery Sergeant you will be missed, the phone calls chewing me out for not calling to check on you will be missed. The world is a little colder without you, but I know even if you could you would not come back! I know those Dress Blues were crisp as you reported to St. Peter. Fair winds and following seas my friend!
