Larry Eugene Henthorne, lovingly known as "DaDa", age 74, of Denton, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025. He was born on June 11, 1951, in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Larry was a devoted son, husband, stepfather, grandfather, & friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ann Henthorne; his stepson, Sal Longo; his stepdaughter, Joann Longo; his cherished grandchildren, Anthony Longo & Kaitlin Longo, whom he dearly loved. He is also survived by his niece, Marissa Day, & by his father's wife, Ceil Gritz.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Henthorne; his father, Ed Gritz; & his niece, Georgiann Day.
Larry spent much of his professional life as a regional manager for a publishing company, where he was well respected for his dedication, leadership, & work ethic. Outside of work, he found joy in life's simple pleasures. He loved watching his favorite football teams - the OU Sooners, Pittsburgh Steelers, & yes, even the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed playing the guitar, a passion he proudly passed on to his grandson, Anthony, & painting, which he shared with his granddaughter, Kaitlin. When his health allowed, Larry was actively involved in his church community at St. Mark Catholic Church.
Larry will be remembered most for his loving & caring nature, his wonderful sense of humor, & his welcoming spirit. He was always ready with a joke & had an easy way of making everyone feel at home. His warmth & laughter filled every room, & he was truly loved by all who knew him. His favorite color was yellow - a fitting reflection of the brightness he brought into the lives of others.
A funeral mass will be held on January 3, 2026, at St. Mark Catholic Church in Argyle. The rosary will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by mas at 10:00 AM. A reception will follow the service.
