Larry Wayne Heyer, the son of William and Anna (Folkerts) Heyer, was born on October 2, 1948, in Buffalo Center, Iowa, where he was raised and later graduated from Buffalo Center High School in 1966.
After high school, Larry worked at Winnebago Industries before owning and operating a garbage truck business with his brother in Britt. He later found his calling on the open road, spending more than 20 years driving truck for Hankins Trucking in Corwith.
Larry had a lifelong need for speed and a deep love for being on the move. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, working on race cars in his younger years, and held a pilot's license. He also enjoyed flying model airplanes. In quieter moments, Larry liked golfing and playing pool. Known as the ultimate bachelor, he lived life his way.
He is survived by his daughter Lori (Wilken II) Benjamin, grandchildren Wilken Benjamin III and Oliva Benjamin; his sister Judy Leerar; brothers Arlo Heyer and Bruce (Debra) Heyer along with nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law Dick Leerar.
