Read in the BJ today of the death of Larry Hunsicker. Larry was several years old than me but he was a musical genius. Going through school he was a "God" to us younger Tallmadge High School band members, a legond. My first husband and I use to go listen to him playing with Pat Pace, another Akron legend. He taught my friends children music and they turned out to be great musicians. Bless you Larry and prayers and thoughts to your family and friends

Larry was a thoughtful, considerate man who would go out of his way to help his friends. Talented in music and photography he had many interests and was knowledgeable on many subjects. A great trivia guy. Larry was also a cat whisperer. He loved his own little gang but he also had a gentle connection with his friend's cats. Right here in our house Larry will be sadly missed by Chico, Jazzy, Pablo, Freddie the Freeloader and the White Mama. Larry always took his time to reach out to them all. That says much about a man's character and Larry will certainly be missed by his good friends and especially members of Akron's jazz community. Our heartfelt condolences to Lillian and to Larry's family. We loved him and will miss him.
