Larry Jones Obituary
Larry Dean Jones, the son of James Marion and Esther Irene (McClain) Jones, was born November 10, 1938, in Exira, Iowa. Larry received his early education in Spirit Lake, Iowa.
Larry married Caroline Utley on October 31, 1963, in Spencer, Iowa. Throughout their married life, Larry and Caroline lived in the Spencer area for most of their life where he worked for Morton Buildings as a truck driver for 23 years and 10 years for Southpark Mall. Later he worked for Golfview for 10 years as well. Larry enjoyed playing cards, duck hunting and especially enjoyed attending his children and grandchildren’s events. Most of all, Larry loved spending time with his family.
Larry passed away on August 7, 2023, at his home in Spencer with his family by his side at the age of 84. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Caroline; son, Jimmy Jones; brother, Kenneth Jones; two sisters: Barbara Shatto and Dorothy Burger.
Left to cherish his memory are his children: Greg and Tammy Jones of Spencer, IA, Gary Jones of Ruthven, IA, Tammy and Keith Cook of Spencer, IA; 11 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
