Larry Kellerman Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Dahlstrom Funeral Home - Oakes on Aug. 4, 2025.
Larry Dean Kellerman, 75, of Leonard ND, passed away unexpectedly on August 3rd, 2025, at home on his beloved farm. He was born on January 17th, 1950, to Kenneth and Louise Kellerman in Fargo, ND. He grew up on a farmstead near Enderlin, ND with his parents and three siblings. Larry began his education in a country school near Sheldon, ND. He enjoyed playing basketball and football during his high school years and graduated in 1968 from Sheldon High School. He attended North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND for one year before returning home to begin his lifelong career in farming and raising cattle alongside his two younger brothers. On January 20th, 1979, he married Merry Bratland. They made their home near Leonard, ND. Larry and Merry became parents to one daughter (Karli) and two sons (Bryan and Trey). Fond memories from his kids were the many tractor rides with him, listening to "Ocean Front Property" while checking the crops, and being taught to drive anything with wheels from a young age. Larry loved watching his kids' sporting events (especially basketball) and loved taking them deer hunting and fishing. He also found great joy in spending time at the family cabin in Minnesota while taking the kids skiing and tubing for hours behind the boat. During the winter months, he especially enjoyed watching sports, going ice fishing, and taking the kids on countless sledding rides behind the snowmobile. More than anything, he was proud of his family and often shared loving stories about his wife, children, and grandchildren. Larry will be remembered for his gentle soul, kind heart, warm smile, and his big blue eyes that made everyone feel at ease. He is survived by his loving wife, Merry; children, Karli (Kamron) Muscha of Alexandria, MN, Bryan (Jillian) Kellerman of Alexandria, MN, and Trey Kellerman of Fargo, ND; grandchildren, Kasen, Krew, Kage, Kyanne, and Kutler Muscha; Silas and Dru Kellerman; Colton Kellerman; sister, Karen Dalos; brothers, Wayne (Kristy) Kellerman and David (Jeannie) Kellerman; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 11, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church in Enderlin with visitation held one hour prior. Larry's service will be live streamed below.
