Larry James "Jo Jo" Kraft, of Ponchatoula, Louisiana, passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at his home peacefully at 5:58am surrounded by his daughter, granddaughter and beloved dog, Lola. We were even able to enjoy one last cup of coffee together with the sun rising.
A proud veteran of the Navy, Larry served his country with honor and commitment. Larry was a retired electrician and a prominent strawberry and bell pepper farmer in Ponchatoula. He was an active member of several organizations, including Sportsman's Paradise, the Knights of Columbus, and Ducks Unlimited. Larry's love for life was evident in his hobbies, which included spending time at the casino, playing cards, hunting, fishing, and boating. He cherished the moments spent with friends and family, creating memories that will be fondly remembered by those who knew him. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those he touched.
Larry is survived by his daughter, Leslie Kraft Rimes; granddaughter, Jennifer Bankston Milordis (Daniel); great-granddaughter, Kayleigh Milordis; partner, Donna Laciura; honorary grandson, Kevin Guillot; sister, Evelyn Richard; brother, Kenneth Kraft; twin brother, Valley Kraft (Andrea); numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rebecca "Becky" Kraft; parents, Valley and Lou Anna Lanoux Kraft; brother, Tommy "Peewee" Kraft; and nephew, Phillip Dirk "DD" Kraft.
Special thanks to Dr. John Allen for the utmost care and compassion for taking his care not just as a patient but more like family. Also huge thanks to Acadian for getting him home safely.
