Larry Lee Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Bowling Funeral Home - London on Dec. 12, 2025.
Larry Dale Lee, of London, Kentucky, was born on March 23, 1978 in Liberty, Kentucky. He was the cherished son of Jerry Dale Lee and Darlene Brown Lee, both of Liberty. He was united in marriage to his wife, Ashley Fields Lee, who survives of London. Larry is also survived by his beloved son, Cruz Lee of London; his bonus daughter, Graycie Chadwell; and four caring siblings: Barry Lee (Kristy) of Yosemite, Kentucky; Steven Lee (Jessica) of Henryville, Indiana; Sherry Lynn of Liberty; and Roger Lee (Christy) of Liberty. He also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, family members, and friends who will forever cherish his memory.

Larry dedicated 25 years of his life to education and was a teacher in the Rockcastle County School System, where he influenced countless students with his passion, humor, and encouragement. Outside the classroom, Larry was known as an exceptional DJ, beginning his career in 1997. He owned and operated Oh Snap Kentucky and Sound Wave Mobile Disc Jockey, becoming one of the area's most popular and well-loved DJs. He also previously co-owned Pour Boyz in London.

Larry was a Christian and attended Grace Fellowship Church in London. He loved the outdoors-especially summertime-and was known for his signature warm-weather nickname, "Shirt," because he rarely wore one. He cherished sunshine, believed the darker the tan the better, and embraced every opportunity to enjoy life in the open air.

Above all, Larry was a devoted father. Nothing brought him more pride than his son, Cruz. He invested deeply in the lives of young people, coaching volleyball, track and field, little league sports, and many other activities over the years. He was honored as a Kentucky Colonel, reflecting his deep love for his home state. Larry also cared tremendously for the city of London and the people in it, earning recognition as the 2019 City of London Volunteer of the Year.

Larry was the life of every gathering-uplifting, energetic, and genuinely loved by all who knew him. His vibrant spirit, generous heart, and unforgettable personality will continue to live on in the many lives he touched. In the end, Larry continued giving by donating life to others through organ donation, a final act of compassion that reflects the kindness he showed throughout his life.

Larry Dale Lee departed this life on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at the age of 47 years, 8 months, and 18 days.
