Larry Lewis Obituary

Larry P. Lewis, 66, of Marshall, died Monday, September 3, 2012, suddenly at his home. Larry was born on August 2, 1946, in Piggott, Arkansas, to Paul and Marcella (Schultz) Lewis. In 1963 at the age of 17, Larry enlisted in the US Army and finished his High School education. On December 7, 1965, he married Patsy L. Poe at her home in Albion. Larry was honorably discharged from the Army in 1969. Larry worked for Denso Manufacturing in Battle Creek, for over 20 years retiring as a Logistics Specialist, after he worked his way up from driving the trucks to the making the routes for the other truck drivers. He enjoyed outdoors, hunting, fishing, and keeping his lawn well maintained. Larry was a member of the Big 9 Sportsmen's Club in Pulaski where he served in several different leadership positions. He also loved being on his tractor out back be hind his home clearing brush in the woods. He is survived by his wife Patsy of Marshall, children Tammy (Steve) Hatter of Cottage Grove, Minnesota, Paul (Shelly) Lewis, and Nikki (Ken) Harvey all of Marshall. He is also survived by his seven grandchildren, brother Bobby Lewis of Parma, sisters Barbara Hackworth of Marshall, and Janice Able of Albion. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Eugene and Charles Lewis. Visitation will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Thursday, September 6, 2012, from 2-8pm with family present to greet friends from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Funeral services celebrating his life will take place at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home on Friday, September 7, 2012, at 1:30 pm with Pastor David Trammell officiating. Interment will follow at Lyon Lake Cemetery. Family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. Assistance with memorials is available at the Kempf Funeral Home.
