Larry McArdle Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel - Payette on Dec. 5, 2025.
Larry McArdle passed away Wednesday, November 19, 2025. The eldest of 3 kids, he was known for his honesty and hardworking spirit. He married after completing his service in the military and had 2 sons. He worked for American Fine Foods, and through his hard work and dedication, he worked his way from entry level employee all the way to the top position of Plant Manager of the New Plymouth facility. He had a passion and talent for photography and had his pictures published in the local newspaper. He was an avid collector of rocks and antiques. He spent his retirement days taking care of his dog and spending time with his family. He believed in Jesus and God. His viewpoint was that we are all basically the same; we each have our struggles and our joys which we make the best of as we go through this life. None are above another. Larry was 75 years old, he is survived by his 2 siblings, 2 children, and 1 grandchild.

Two memories to share. I worked as a carhop at A&W when Larry was in high school. He came into the A&W one day wearing a blue checkered shirt. I was wearing the same style checkered shirt but a ladies size and smaller checkers. I loved his shirt. I said to him. "Let´s trade". He proceeded to take his off and hand it to me and I went in the bathroom and switched to his. Pretty sure he couldn´t get mine on. I "Loved" that shirt and wore it out. Have thought of him often and "our" shirt. . Second memory. I had recently bought my first car. I was in town and he and two friends ask me to give them a ride to his house. When the car was traded in someone left a "blackjack" under the driver´s seat. On the way to his house one of his two friends saw it and proceeded to take it unbeknownst to me. A bit later he made them give it back. Yep, honestly ran deep with him! I´ll always carry fond memories of him.
