On Friday November 28, 2025, the Angels of Mercy brought everlasting peace to Mr. Larry Earl Meredith. A native of Spartanburg, SC, Mr. Meredith was the son of the late Annie Bell Gray Meredith and James Carol Meredith. He was the stepson to the late Ms. Sarah Owens of Newberry, SC. After completing his education, he was employed with Meredith & Son, a family owned Landscaping and Construction business. He also was employed by the Main Street Pub, where he did landscaping. Larry 'Hatman" Meredith was a passionate fan of the Dallas Cowboys and enjoyed wearing his many hats, all types of music, fishing, reading, and sports. A positive person with a partying spirit, he thororoughly enjoyed life and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish fond loving memories are: his sisters, Ms. Carolyn Meredith of Spartanburg, SC and Mrs. Ernestine Griffin of Ware Shoals, SC; step-brothers, Mr. William Glenn of Chesapeake, VA; brother in law, Johnny L. Lindsey of Spartanburg, SC; sister in law, Faye Woodruff of Spartanburg, SC; a special niece, Angela N. Meredith; a special great nephew, Dequavious (DQ) Martin of Spartanburg, SC; a special great niece, Thomasina Moragne (Nelson) of Florida; his loving aunts, Mrs. Audrey Floyd, Mrs. Beatrice Pyles, Ms. Emma Jones, and Ms. Jeraline Jones of Reidville, SC; uncle, Mr. Elbert Meredith, Jr. of Woodruff, SC; and a host of family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Mr. Luther Gray, Sr and Mrs. Neva Young Gray; paternal grandparents, Mr. Elbert Meredith, Sr. and Mrs. Catherine Simms Meredith; two brothers, Mr. James M. Meredith, Jr. (Sweat), Mr. Curtis A. Meredith (Curt); sister in laws, Ms. Doreatha (Doll) Nesbitt and Carol Smith (Charles); twelve aunts and 10 uncles.
