Larry W. Mize, 80, of Greenwood, IN, passed away March 12, 2021 peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and children. He was born on December 29, 1940 in Southport, IN to the late Fredie C. Mize and Edna C. "Whitaker" Mize. He married Glendora "Mahan" Mize February 20, 1960. They were seldom apart and shared life experiences together for 61 years. Larry was a loving, hardworking husband, Dad, and Papaw who always had a smile on his face. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canning tomatoes and beans, and making pies and jelly for everyone. Larry graduated from Southport High School. He worked many years for Union Carbide/Taylor Wharton, was self-employed with Mac Tools, managed at Bradley Chevrolet Body Shop, and was a custodian and school bus driver for Greenwood Community School Corporation. He was a member of Greenwood Christian Church and enjoyed serving communion for many years. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his son Robert W. Mize "Bobby", and his twin brother Gary C. Mize. He is survived by his wife, Glen Mize; three children, Shelly (Rob) Goodrich, Tim Mize, Tiffanie (Jason) Baker; seven grandchildren, Robert (Melissa) Goodrich, Nick (Allyson) Goodrich, Joel Mize, Megan Mize, Averie, Owen, and Isaac Baker; six great grandchildren, Addison, Waveland, and Banks Goodrich, Jahlen Burton, Nohlen Goodrich and Baisley Mize; six siblings, Janet Chaney, Judy (Carl) Hancock, Jim Mize, Steve (Joyce) Mize, Phil (Sonia) Mize, Jane (Eric) Weaver, sister in law Joanne Mize, and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on April 11, 2021 at Greenwood Christian Church, 2045 Averitt Rd, Greenwood, IN 46143. Visitation from 2-4pm, service by Perry Anderson at 4pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood Christian Church or Main Street Hospice, 10 Highland Avenue, Franklin, IN 46131

I learned of Larry's passing from Judy who came to the Mize reunion Sunday. I cannot tell you how shocked and sad the news made Mother and me; we loved him dearly, just as Dad did.
Please accept our sympathy for you, Shelly and the rest of your family.
We love you.
