Larry Niece Obituary
Larry V. Niece, age 79, of Ham Lake and formerly of Willmar, passed away on Sunday, August 10, at the U of M Fairview Riverside Hospital in Minneapolis.
A celebration of life gathering will be from 12 noon to 3:00 p.m. on Monday, August 18, at the Willmar American Legion. A private service will be held at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home with interment at Fairview Cemetery in Willmar. Arrangements are entrusted to Peterson Brothers Funeral Home. www.petersonbrothers.com
Larry V. Niece was born on June 26, 1947, in Willmar, Minnesota, the son of Donald and Zona (Nelson) Niece. He grew up in the Willmar community and graduated from Willmar High School in 1966. Larry had a lifelong career with Burlington Northern Railroad, retiring after 32 years as a Inspector. In 2010, he moved to Ham Lake. Larry enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by two sons, Scott Niece of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mike Niece (and Cassie Johnson) of Willmar; one granddaughter, Ashley; and two sisters, Barb Freitag of Rice and DiAnn Buker of Mankato, besides other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
