Mr. Larry Eugene Pendergrass

Larry Eugene Pendergrass, age 70, passed away peacefully January 30th, 2019 with his family at bedside following a brave, year-long battle with leukemia. The family would like to thank the Mercy 7A oncology staff for their compassionate and attentive care throughout this difficult year. Our father was born November 29th, 1948 in Springfield, MO to Charley Clifford Pendergrass and Carrie Maybelle Crabtree. He served in the United States Air Force during Vietnam as an aircraft machinist and was stationed in the Philippines. Dad always had a love of classic cars and enjoyed attending car shows with his sons and grandson, Owen. He also enjoyed perusing local flea markets and garage sales. Perhaps most of all, he enjoyed the time he got to spend with his grandchildren, Ollie and Annie. Our father is survived by his wife of 48 years, Sandy; his daughter, four sons and their significant others – Tracey Caudill and Derek White of Bowling Green, KY, Charles and Robin Pendergrass of Springfield, Billy Pendergrass of Springfield, David and Josie Pendergrass of Springfield and Chris Pendergrass and Kathie Choate of Springfield; three surviving sisters – Lucille Webb of Diamond, MO, Delores Shelton of Irwin, TN and Rachel Jones of Everton, MO; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews . At his request, his remains are to be cremated through Holden Funeral Home in Sparta, MO and no formal service will be held but the family plans to have a private memorial gathering at a later date.
