Larry Anthony Pint, 80.5 years young, passed away in his home in Fort Atkinson on January 4, 2026. Having been born on the 4th of July, Larry entered this world with a bang, and he made sure to go out with one by passing exactly on his half-birthday.
Larry, born in
Independence, Iowa in 1945, was the eldest of twelve children in a lively Catholic household. Larry graduated from St. John's High School in 1963 and moved to Wisconsin in April of 1977, where he farmed near Fort Atkinson.
Larry was married to his first wife, Carol Chase, in September 1967. He later married Candace Butz-Pint in April 1998; they remained devoted to one another until her passing in March 2025.
Larry came out of the womb a farmer and remained one in his heart and soul until the very end. While he worked various jobs over the years-including time at Frohlings, Nasco, Generac, and Briggs-the land was where he was truly at home.
When he wasn't farming, Larry was most likely found relaxing in his favorite recliner, always dressed in one of his signature button-down shirts-as he was never seen wearing anything else. He was a fixture at the Pine Cone, where he enjoyed his coffee and the daily paper; over the years, the staff there became like an extended family to him. Larry was one of the nicest, most patient people you could meet, though he was best known for his "smartass" kidding nature and an endless supply of corny jokes. He had a very "interesting" way of being handy, but he always got the job done-usually after being "volunteered" for the task by his late wife, Candy.
Larry is survived by his children: LaVerne Pint of
Madison, WI; Lori Pint of Marion, Iowa; and Sandina (Christopher) Pint-Baron of
Fort Atkinson, WI. He is also survived by his step-children: Christine (Rick) Rector, Ryann (Shawna) Butz, and Daniel (Julie) Butz.
He was the proud "Papa" of 10: Brian (Hannah) Beaudo, Brandon Beaudo, Jenna Bautzmann, Jaden Bautzmann, Anna Butz, Callie Butz, Bobby Butz, Evelyn Butz, Cyleen Pint, and Ayden Pint-Anderson; 4 step-grandchildren: Amanda Rector, Josh Kassel, Ryan Rector, and Allison Rector; and his great-grandson, Bennett Beaudo.
As the eldest of the Pint crew, he is survived by his siblings: Margaret McKay, Gerald (Joy) Pint, Marie (Steve) Forney, Janice Estill, Monica (Richard) Schmitz, Joanne (Donald) Corkery, Vincent (Terri) Pint, Paul Pint, Martin (Dawn) Pint, and Andrew (Sarah) Yarrington.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LaVerne William Pint and Petronilla Gardner Pint Yarrington; his brother, Anthony Pint; and his son, Frank Pint.
Larry lived a full life of hard work, family, and laughter. May he forever be farming the fields of heaven, his coffee always hot and his jokes always never ending.
A memorial visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Dunlap Memorial Home in Fort Atkinson.
