Larry Pudwill, 85, of Tyndall Larry went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2025. Funeral services are 1:30 PM, Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at the First Baptist Church in Avon, with Pastor Bill VanGerpen officiating. Burial is in the Baptist Cemetery, rural Avon. Visitation will be at the church on Tuesday from 5-7 PM. The service will be streamed on the First Baptist Church Avon, SD YouTube page. Larry Pudwill, son of Ewald and Dorothy (Oorlog) Pudwill was born August 9, 1939 in Avon, SD. He went home to be with the Lord on June 13, 2025. Larry lived around Avon all of his life. He attended rural schools and graduated from Avon High School in 1957. After high school he drove truck, worked for the county, and drove a Standard Oil truck for Louis Dykstra. In 1970, he started farming and continued farming the rest of his life. While farming, he raised hogs and milked cows for 37 years. Larry accepted the Lord as his personal Savior on January 20, 1952 at the Avon Baptist Church. He married Leatta Voigt on April 6, 1962. He served as a trustee, usher, served as a secretary in Sunday School and sang in a quartet, and in men's chorus for many years. Larry and Leatta sang many duets in various churches. They also sang for weddings, anniversaries and many funerals. Larry always enjoyed attending his grandchildren's and great-grandchildren's programs and sporting events. Thankful for having shared his life are his wife of 63 years, Leatta; three children: Lynne (Kevin) Vermeulen of Mitchell, SD, Loren of Tyndall, SD, and Lisa Ronke of Tyndall, SD; three grand children: Trever (Melissa) Vermeulen of Sioux Falls, SD, Nick (Kelli) Ronke of Viborg, SD, and Tara (Matt) Jensen of Viborg, SD; five great-grandchildren: Bennett Vermeulen, Maddie and Aiden Ronke, Jhett and Oakley Jensen; two sisters-in-law, Alma Pudwill and Ilene Pudwill; and extended family and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Clayton and Bob; and sister-in-law Shirley Pudwill; son-in-law, Warren Ronke; nephew, Kevin Pudwill; and a niece, Pamela Pudwill.
