Larry Reed

Circleville Larry J. Reed, 66, of Circleville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Grant Hospital. Born and raised in Circleville, Larry was the cherished son of Harold Eugene Reed Sr. and Marianne Kloop Reed. He attended St. Joseph Elementary School and graduated from Circleville High School in 1978. Larry proudly served in the United States Army and later worked as a corrections officer at the Pickaway County Sheriff's Office. He continued his career in public service as a security officer. Larry is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Brenda Crumley Reed; his sister Nancy (Keith) Lyons; many beloved sisters and brothers-in law; extended family in Germany and several nieces and nephews. Heather Haughey held a special place in his heart as a daughter. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Harold E. Reed Jr., and his nephew and closest companion Tyler Lyons. Larry had a deep love for history and historical landmarks. He enjoyed spending time outdoors with family and friends and was a devoted Ohio State fan especially fond of watching OSU football and basketball. His gentle spirit and affection for animals, especially his dogs Layla and Mia, touched all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Larry's honor to the Pickaway County Dog Shelter. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church on October 1, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. with military honors to follow. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
