Larry Elton Rime, 79, of Emmet, ND, passed away at his home on Saturday, November 1, 2025, surrounded by his family.

A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garrison, ND. Burial will be at St. Peter Cemetery, Emmet, ND.

Visitation will be held from 9:30-10:30 AM on Friday, November 7, 2025, at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Garrison, ND.

Larry was born on November 1, 1946, to M. Russel and Laura (Hultberg) Rime. He was the fourth of five Rime children. He graduated from Garrison High School in 1964. After high school he stayed on the family farm which was homesteaded by his grandparents, M. Menton and Regnild Rime. After many years of working for his dad, Larry bought the farm from his parents and continued to expand, a third-generation farm that he proudly passed down to the fourth generation.

Larry married the love of his life and partner that stayed beside him through all the highs and lows, Constance "Connie" Pederson, on February 1, 1969, in Riverdale, ND. They started a home in Garrison and eventually moved to the farm, where they raised three children. Larry taught his kids to be hard working, self-sufficient individuals that he was very proud of.

He was active on the McLean Electric Cooperative board, he was master of the Garrison Masonic Lodge, a director of the Garrison Sportsman Club, vice president of Blackwater Farmers Union Local, a member of St. Peters Church of Emmet, and a confirmed member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Garrison.

In addition to farming, Larry loved to hunt and fish. Hunting trips to Colorado and the Badlands with family members and friends provided fond memories and stories. Larry was a hunters safety instructor for many years and taught his kids and some of the grandkids to shoot a rifle. He enjoyed family gatherings and holidays with the chaos of the grandkids running around and playing countless card and board games.

In later years, Larry and Connie wintered in Florida, where they met many new friends from all over the United States. Larry looked forward to going to Florida every year and telling his FL friends about ND, "God's Country."

Larry is survived by his wife, Connie; three children, Kevin (Hedi) Rime of Garrison, ND, Lenita (Jeremie) Larson of Buxton, ND, and Carla Rime of Upper Marlboro, MD; grandchildren, Jamison, Isabelle, and Peyton Rime and Lenora and Camron Larson; sister, Lona Affeldt, and brother, Ray Rime.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Russel and Laura; brothers, Walter and Tony; mother and father-in-law, Lenora and Arnold Pederson; and brother-in-laws, Bruce Pederson and Brock Affeldt.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorials to St. Peters Cemetery and HIA Hospice.
