Larry Eugene Risner

Larry Eugene Risner, Age 79, of Nashville, TN, died Friday, February 23, 2024, with his family by his side. Larry was the son of the late Douglas and Wanda Risner and was preceded in death by his brothers, Randy and Ricky Risner.
Larry was born on February 28, 1944, in Florence, AL. He was a 1961 graduate of Donelson High School and served on the USS Greenfish submarine in the U.S. Navy from 1961 until 1965.
While home on leave from the Navy, Larry met Betty Burlason on July 4, 1964. They corresponded via letter for 7 months, and upon his return to Nashville, they married on March 26, 1965. They were married for 49 years until Betty's death in 2014.
In 2015, Larry found new love with Margaret Guthrie. They married on January 29, 2016, and spent 8 wonderful years together. They enjoyed traveling and being creative together, making stained glass pieces and mosaics, as well as painting and woodworking.
Larry was a devoted husband, father, and Pawpaw. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Guthrie-Risner; daughter, Beth (Rick) Benson; grandson, Kyle Benson; brothers, Terry (Mary) Risner, Kenny (Kathy) Risner; sister, Carolyn (Larry) Graves; stepsons, John (Katie) Ward and Jamie (Kim) Ward; sister-in-law, Donna Risner.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 2, 2024, from 10am until 2pm with a memorial service at 2pm at Phillips-Robinson Hadley Chapel, 1700 Hadley Ave., in Old Hickory, TN with Pastor Moses Han Officiating.
