Larry James Russell, 76, was born on January 1, 1949, and went home to be with his mother and father on September 20, 2025. He was born to the late Erlene Eskridge and William Russell.
Larry worked at the Ohio Malleable for 14 years until it closed. He then went to the army which he was honorably discharged in 1984. He was stationed in Germany. After that, he worked for the United States Postal Service for 28 years, retiring in 2012. Larry was preceded in death by his father, William Russell; his mother, Erlene Eskridge; his sister, Deloris Russell; brothers, Donald Russell and William Russell. And grandson Tre’Malik Patrick Russell.
Larry was a devoted husband and father. He loved music, old and new, and watching horse races. He loved to play cards and party with his family. He loved cars, and in the later years, his favorite color became grey, and he always loved sky blue and royal blue. My husband and I were together 41 years in total, 9 of those years married.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories wife Gloria Russell, son Lawrence (Roxanne Russell, Daughters Tracey Jimerson, Randee( Ty Berger, and Chasity Jo Shrewsbury (Jerry Moton, also step children Cherine Travis, Omni Roddey, Otis Roddey, Shantel Roddey, and Collette(Anthony Bennett. He also leaves sisters Gayle Sullivan, Wilena (Dwight Garrett, Pam Mallory, brothers Tyrone(Sharon Russell, Gene Russell, Wayne (Marsha Russell, Kenneth (Darla Russell. He leaves behind numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A host of cousins and nieces, and nephews.
