Larry Gene Smith, known to many simply as Gene, passed away on January 27, 2026, at The Shepheard's Center in Cimarron, Kansas. He was born on November 3, 1946, in Montezuma, Kansas. Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 5, 2025, from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM at the Montezuma United Methodist Church, located at 100 N. Escalanta, Montezuma, KS 67867. A graveside service will follow on Thursday, February 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Morningside Cemetery, Montezuma, KS.
