Larry Smith Obituary
New Albany- Larry (Duck) Wayne Smith JR. 46, passed away at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in New Albany on Monday, February 16, 2026. He was enjoyed fishing, hunting Indian artifacts and all types of sports. He was an avid Nascar fan, St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and he was a die-hard Florida Gators fan and Larry loved his dog "sicko". He was a self-employed electrician and member of Jericho Baptist Church.
Funeral services will be held at Waters Funeral Home on Thursday, February 19, 2026 @ 10:30 a. m. with Bro. Andy Russell officiating. Burial will be in Jericho Cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Larry Wayne Smith and Peggy Letson Smith; daughters, Callie Smith and Alayna Smith; son, Braden Smith; sisters, Kristie Kasimakis (Rudy) and Alice Randall (Eddie); brother, Richard Herring (Tammy); longtime companion, Melanie Smithey; her three sons, Preston Gillen (Ashley), Brandon Gillen (Destiny Dupree) and Josh Smithey; their grandchildren, Lindley, Evee, Kinsley and Wyatt; and a host of other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Kirk Greer, Kevin Potts, Glen Hutcheson, Cade Potts, Brandon Gillen and Preston Gillen.
Visitation will be at Waters Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 8:00 p. m.
