Larry SNIDER Obituary

Aberdeen resident, Larry Paul Snider, passed away at Harbor Regional Health Center on July 11, 2025. He was 73 years old.

Larry was born on June 28, 1952, and was later adopted by Frank and Naomi (Iams) Snider of Renton. He was raised in Seattle, Washington, and attended Eastern Washington University before enlisting with the U.S. Army in July of 1972. He served for two years before being honorably discharged in 1974. Upon his return home, he claimed his broadcasting degree from EWU and went on to work for multiple radio stations across the United States, in different capacities, before retiring in 2017. He was a lover of music and amassed an extensive collection of several artists and genres, most recently blues and Miles Davis.

He was also an avid sports fan, The Pittsburgh Pirates in particular. He was so interested in the team that he had kept track of the teams' stats for the last 35 years, probably more, just using a pad of paper and a ballpoint pen.

Larry is survived by his son, Frank Snider of Colville, Washington; and his daughter, Tara Christiano of Portland, Oregon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Naomi Snider.

Memorial services will be planned and announced at a later time. Arrangements have been entrusted to Harrison Family Mortuary.

Larry was such a wonderful, talented, interesting person. I met Larry when he was the program director of KREM-FM in the early 70's. I'm sorry Larry and I never got to work together. Recently he and I were exchanging our ideas about pedal steel guitar players and new music he was discovering. Larry loved to turn people on to different sounds and artists. Frankie, your Dad mentioned you almost every time we spoke. My sincere condolences to you and your sister.

I am so sorry to see this. I have been trying to reach Larry for years. He was a true human being. I last saw him when Frankie was in diapers. I hold his memory and our memories in my mind and heart. Our late nights listening to Neil Young and Van Morrison. Cinnamon Girl and Moondance.
Love you man, Mark Farrell RHS Class of 1968
