Larry Dene Steele age 68 of Fair Grove, Missouri passed away on December 2, 2021 in Springfield, Missouri.
Larry was born on April 22, 1953 in Springfield, Missouri to Homer E. (Gene) and Bonieta (Campbell) Steele. He was raised in Fair Grove, Missouri where he attended and graduated from Fair Grove High School. After graduating, Larry joined the U.S. Air Force where he served from 1972-1976. When he returned home from the Air Force he worked in the construction industry for a few years before moving to Independent Awning where he worked until his health started to decline.
Larry enjoyed riding motorcycles, fishing, classic cars, watching races, playing cards, and reading westerns. Most recently Larry enjoyed his role as Pop Pop to his two grandchildren who he took great pride in.
Larry was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister Linda Kay Netz and brother Danny Steele. Larry is survived by his son Jesse Steele, daughter-in-law Kristin, granddaughter Lexi and grandson Maddox, Jesse's mother Dolores Wiggins, brother-in law Glen Netz, sister-in-law Doris Steele, sister's Janet (Curt) Gullett, Mary Lou (Steve) Lathem, Jackie Doyle, Lisa (Darrell) Butts and their respective children along with many other extended family members and friends.
Visitation will be at Greenlawn Funeral Home North on Monday, December 6, 2021, 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Services will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 7, 2021, also at Greenlawn Funeral Home with burial following at New Hope Cemetery, with full military honors.
There will be a celebration of life following the burial at Community Southern Baptist Church in Fair Grove, Missouri.

I always looked up to Larry. He was a good friend from way back. My memories of him was that of a rough and tough guy. But also a good guy. Praying for ya bro.
