Larry Keith "Pete" Tyson

Larry Keith "Pete" Tyson, a beloved resident of Blakely, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 10th, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on Monday, June 22nd, 1959, in Blakely, Georgia, Pete was a cherished member of the community, known for his warm heart and dedication to his family and work, he was also an active member of Hilton Methodist Church. 

Pete spent his career as a Legal Processor for Houston County, Alabama, where he was respected for his diligence and commitment. His colleagues remember him as a man of integrity and kindness, always willing to lend a helping hand.

He is survived by his loving children, Zachary Tyson of Blakely, GA, and Jennifer Russ (Leonard) of Dothan, AL. Pete was a proud grandfather to Elliott Tyson, Kayleigh Tyson, Rylan Tyson, Kaelynn Tyson, Paisley Zaleski, Gabriel Pickett, Benjamin Pickett, and Nevaeh Russ, who brought immense joy to his life. He is also survived by his sister, Kay Nipper of Gainesville, FL.

Pete was preceded in death by his parents, Flozzell Tyson and Myrtice Storey, his sister, Elaine Edmonds and his brother, Don Tyson. His family takes comfort in knowing he is reunited with them.

A graveside service to honor Pete's life will be held at Pine Lawn Gardens Cemetery in Blakely, GA, on Friday, March 13th, 2026, at 2:00 pm, with Rev. Lori Lewis officiating. Prior to the service, a visitation will take place at Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home Chapel from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Arrangements are being handled by Manry-Jordan-Hodges Funeral Home. Pete's family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered their support and condolences during this difficult time.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Pete's memory to a charity of your choice. His legacy of love and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him.
