A native of Newport, Kentucky, son of the late Elwood and Ruth Demeler Wilson, he was the Regional Vice President for State Auto, where he worked for 44 years. Larry received the key to City of Greer, proclamation from Mayor Danner, Partnership for Tomorrow, Greer Chamber of Commerce, SC New Service, Leadership award for Partnership, Regional Fellows Leadership Program from Spartanburg Reginal Healthcare, and Paul Harris Fellow Award. He was also a member of Harbor Towne Yacht Club Board and SC Wind and Hail Board. Mr. Wilson was an avid golf player and pool player, he was known as a pool shark, traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and dancing.
Surviving are his wife, Linda Sue Emmons Wilson of the home; four children, Larry Wilson (Jenny) of Ft. Thomas, Kentucky, Lori Clements (Todd) of Union, Kentucky, Brad Lee (Michelle) of Sadieville, Kentucky, and Brandi Wilson (Drew) of Greer, South Carolina; a brother, Robert Wilson (Carol); nine grandchildren, Natalie Wilson, Larry Wilson, Caitlin McCune, Ryan Clements, Lauren Clements, Carrie Lee, Samantha Lee, Brody Wilson, and Colton Wilson; and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Wilson was predeceased by a sister, Beverly Pelle.
A cryptside service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church Columbarium conducted by Mr. Peter Huff.
A Celebration of Life will be held 12:30-3:00 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2026, with the location to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Partnership for Tomorrow, 111 South Main St B, Greer, South Carolina 29650 or Greer Community Ministries, PO Box 1373 Greer, South Carolina 29652.
