Larry Woodie Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by YANDA & SON FUNERAL HOME - YUKON on Dec. 5, 2025.
Larry Warren Woodie, 82, of Oklahoma City, OK, entered his heavenly home on December 1, 2025. Born on June 21, 1943, in Evansville, IN to Gilbert and Rosalie Woodie, Larry lived a full and faithful life rooted in Christ, family, and service.

On June 22, 1963, Larry married the love of his life, Caroline Sue. Together they shared 62 years of unwavering devotion-a marriage built on love, prayer, and a deep commitment to one another and to the Lord. Their union was blessed with three children: Steven Woodie, Michael Woodie, and Wendy Pavlik. Larry was also a proud grandfather to six grandchildren and a joyful great-grandfather to thirteen great-grandchildren, each one a source of delight and pride.

Larry is survived by his brothers Jim Woodie, Don Woodie, and Jerry Woodie. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Edward Woodie, with whom he is now joyfully reunited in the presence of their Savior.

Larry was a man of many talents and passions. He loved woodworking, painting, gardening, fishing, and hunting-finding joy in the beauty and complexity of God's creation. One of his greatest pleasures was tending to his roses, which he admired with a sense of wonder and gratitude. He examined each bloom like a masterpiece crafted by the Creator. Larry also loved learning; he spent countless hours watching YouTube videos to pick up new skills, deepen his knowledge, and discover better ways to get things done.

Above all else, Larry was devoted to the Word of God. He held an Honorary Doctorate of Theology and dedicated his life to studying, teaching, and sharing the Gospel. His passion for spreading the love of Christ could be felt by all who knew him. He was always ready to help, encourage, and speak life into others. His faith was not only something he believed-it was something he lived daily. His life was a beacon of Christ's compassion and grace.

Family meant everything to Larry. He cherished holidays, gatherings, and simple moments spent sharing stories and making memories. He especially treasured the brother lunches filled with laughter, jokes, and reminiscing about the days gone by.

Larry's legacy is one of faith, love, humility, and service and will live on through the countless lives he touched. His gentle spirit, wise counsel, and steadfast devotion to God and family will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know him.

Though he has left this earthly home, Larry now rests in the eternal peace and joy of his Savior. His life was a testimony to God's goodness, and his memory will forever remain in the hearts of those he loved.

"Well done, good and faithful servant... enter into the joy of your Lord."- Matthew 25:23
