Ms. Dorsey will truly be missed! I would see & speak to her at Golden Corral anytime I would go there! She would come over and talk to us for a bit! May she Rest In Paradise!

We are so heartbroken by the passing of Mrs. LaRue Dorsey. Her strong presence of grace and wisdom filled every room she entered. The lives she touched will continue to give honor to her life's journey.

I would just like to send my most sincerest condolences to the family. Mrs. LaRue was my eldest daughter (who is in her 30's) first teacher. She was also my youngest brother whom is in his 40's first teacher when we moved to Waco. She was a woman of integrity, pride, a love for education and empowerment of "our people". She always told things as they were and as you needed to know. I also continued being around Mrs. LaRue because she was a client of the beauty salon I worked at. I was so happy to see her at our Women's Tea at my church Mt. Carmel Baptist Church back in September where she was the keynote speaker and I made sure to get a picture with her. She was definitely a pillar of the community and I personally consider her an icon. I will miss her dearly and I know there may not be another her in this lifetime.

Mrs. Dorsey was a mentor and a leader. She taught us to hold our heads high no matter what situations we might encounter. With her inspiration, we will continue the dignity that she displayed to us daily

My sincerest condolences to the Dorsey and Gilbert families. I grew up in the same neighborhood as Ms. Dorsey and have known her all of my life! She was a devoted sister to her brothers and her family! May she rest peacefully!
