LaRue D. Miller, 74, of Homer City, went into the arms of our Lord and Savior on Monday, September 22, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. LaRue was born on October 5, 1950, to the late Rhoda (Coleman) Miller Aikens and Laird Miller.
Besides her parents, LaRue was preceded in death by her stepfather Russel Aikens, three brothers Laird Miller Jr, Russell Aikens, Jr., one sister Phyllis Miller, and a baby Aikens.
She is survived by one brother Keith (Peggy) Aikens, one special aunt Patricia Poling of Altoona, a special uncle Paul Miller of New York, and many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
She was a 1968 graduate of Kiski Area Senior High School, where she found her passion in the Drama Club, being awarded the thespian status before graduation. She had many full and part-time jobs over the years but ended her career in 2015 with 20 years of service with Halliburton Energy Services in Lucernmines.
Her hobbies included cooking, baking, canning, and sharing with anyone and everyone she knew. She loved all crafts, knitting, crocheting, sewing, floral arrangements, and most of all spending time with her family.
LaRue wishes to give a special thank you to Craig Durst for all his help, love, support, and company for the last 25 years, as well as good neighbors and friends Sam and Mary Cerminara for the help and support during the cancer journey. To her special nephew and the light of her life, John Stuckich and his wife Brittany for their love, help, and support. And to the nurses and staff of 365 Hospice.
Friends and family members are welcomed on Friday, September 26, 2025, from 3-7 PM in the Bowser Minich Funeral Home, Indiana where services will be held at 7 PM with Pastor Paul Price officiating.
Inurnment will take place privately in Oakland Cemetery Mausoleum at the convenience of the family.

LaRue was an amazing woman during the recent years that we shared together.
My family was close friends with the Coleman´s, the parents of LaRue´s mom, Rhoda, and all Rhoda´s siblings.
LaRue´s grandparents, Rev. Ernest Miller, wife Hazel, and her Aunt Ressie were the first to lead me to Jesus as a young boy.
In recent times, LaRue´s shared her care of her Aunt Ressie while housed in a senior home after having had a stroke.
LaRue was an organized, dedicated and compassionate woman that was a joy to know. All were saddened through by her struggle with cancer. But, we rejoice in LaRue´s having gained her eternal home with her saviour, Jesus, and the mighty reunion with her mom in heaven.
