Lathrop G. Hoffman

I came across this obituary and wanted to write a note because so many aspects of Lathrop's life struck a cord with me. His first name was my maiden name. The family name Gray is my middle name, though spelled Grey. My mother gave it to me just because she liked it, and I have retained it. I believe Cleary is a family name from the past. Many of the first names in his family are also in mine. Early in his life he lived in Claremont, and I attended college there (Pomona, '59). One of my sons loves flying and flies single and multi engine planes. The other son went to UCLA. He sounds like a wonderful man, and I feel a little like I knew him, or at least like I had been to his memorial service.
