My Beautiful Daughter
We celebrate the life of my precious daughter, Toya, who left us too soon on March 19, 2025. While our hearts are broken, we also find comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind and the love she shared with all of us. From the moment she came into this world, Toya was a light.
She had a spirit that shone brightly, and her love for those around her knew no bounds. She was a daughter, a sister, a niece, a cousin, and a friend-roles she played with grace, kindness, and warmth. She was a source of joy to everyone who knew her, and her laughter, her smile, and her caring heart will forever be remembered.
She is survived by her loving father, Edward Slack Jr., and her devoted mother, Darlene Slack. She leaves behind her sister, Lakeisha Conway, and her brother, Joseph Jones. Her family was her foundation, and she loved us all deeply.
But Toya's love extended far beyond just her immediate family. She was surrounded by a host of aunties, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews, and a circle of friends who were blessed to know her. The impact she had on all of our lives cannot be measured, but it will certainly never be forgotten. Her ability to connect with others, to offer support, and to bring light into any room she entered is something we will hold dear in our hearts.
While we mourn her passing, we also take solace in knowing that she is now with the Lord and with her son, Marquise Slack, whom she loved so dearly. Their reunion is something we can find peace in, as we hold on to the hope that they are together again, watching over us all.
Toya, your journey here may have been short, but the love and joy you brought into our lives will echo forever. We are heart broken, but we are also eternally grateful for the time we shared with you. Your legacy of love, kindness, and beauty will live on in all of us, and we will continue to honor your memory in everything we do. Rest in heaven, my sweet baby girl. We love you always, and we will carry your spirit in our hearts until we meet again.
