Laura Bergesen Obituary

Laura H. Bergesen

April 17, 1959 - October 3, 2025

Laura Harley Bergesen, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 3, 2025, at St. Luke's Medical Center, leaving behind a legacy rich in love and cherished memories. Born on April 17, 1959, in St. Charles, Ill., Laura illuminated the lives of all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Married to her devoted husband, Brad J. Bergesen, in Lake Geneva on August 8, 1980, Laura exemplified the essence of partnership throughout their years together. Their union blossomed into a nurturing family, blessed with two children, Andrew (Samantha) and Amanda (Logan). Laura's role as a grandmother brought her immense joy, as she embraced and adored her six grandchildren, Robert, Jack, Anthony, Josephine, Noah, and Harley.

Laura grew up as one of four sisters, Pam (Brian) Stark, the late Melissa (Scott) Lowell, and Juliann (Jake) Beidler. Together they shared a lifetime of laughter, stories, and memories that shaped the strong, caring woman Laura became.

She was known for her kind heart and her love of simple joys. In earlier years, she cherished her Bunko nights with friends and spending time cross-stitching. More recently, her happiest moments were spent outdoors - going for walks, soaking in the sunshine, and enjoying peaceful boat rides. Above all, Laura loved being with her family and friends. She was a natural caretaker, always thinking of others and making sure everyone felt loved and looked after.

Laura dedicated much of her life to St. Francis de Sales Parish School, where she worked for 27 years. She poured her heart into the school and parish community, forming deep bonds with the children and families she served. Her presence there made a lasting impact - one that will be remembered and felt for years to come.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents, Robert William and Barbara Ann Harley; her in-laws, Sigmund and Mary Jane Bergesen; her sister, Melissa Lowell; and her two babies, Adam and Sarah.

In her passing, Laura continued her lifelong spirit of generosity by giving the gift of life through organ donation.

As we come together to celebrate the vibrant life of Laura Harley Bergesen, we invite all who loved her to share in her memory and legacy. A visitation with family will take place on October 16, 2025, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Derrick Funeral Home & Cremation Services in Lake Geneva, Wis. A service will follow on October 17, 2025, starting at 11 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, followed by her burial at St. Francis De Sales Catholic Cemetery at 12:15 p.m.

Laura's light, filled with warmth and kindness, shall forever echo in our hearts, reminding us to embrace lifes simple pleasures and the beauty of family and friendship.

She leaves behind not just a legacy of love but also the invaluable lessons of compassion and joy that she imparted onto us all.

In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, the family has asked that you make a donation in Lauras name to the St. Francis De Sales Angel Fund.
