Laura Esther Blackman

Laura Blackman was born on January 21, 1953 in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. Laura passed away on March 3, 2026 at the age of 73. She was preceeded in death by her parents John Blackman , Delores Blackman Watkins, and her beloved Step-Father Harvey Watkins in addition to siblings Michael Blackman and Alice Blackman.

Laura graduated from Schenly Hjgh School in 1971. Laura welcomed her only child LaMar Blackman on March 1, 1974

Laura's pride and joy was her Granddaughter Lovie Blackman. Lovie adored her MiMi dearly. They loved spending time together. They loved to play scrabble and to shop together.

After retirement from The University of Pittsburgh, Laura enjoyed spending time with family. Her favorite family activity was playing cards. She loved playing Bid Whist and Pinochle. Family gatherings were always full of fun and laughter because of Laura.

Laura is survived by LaMar Blackman (son), Christal Blackman (daughter-in-law), Lovie Blackman (granddaughter), Carol Blackman (sister), John Blackman, Jr (brother), and Celia Blackman (sister). She leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, and other relatives and friends who will miss her.
