Laura Vivian Cox, age 76 passed away peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the Cameron Hall Assisted Living in Canton, Georgia. Born on March 31, 1949, in Burlington, Iowa,
Laura was a woman of sharp wit and strong opinions, never afraid to speak her mind. An avid card player, Laura's spirited rounds of Liverpool Rummy were a testament to her fun-loving nature and competitive spirit.
She could easily find beauty and would express it in her own unique way, through shopping, sharing stories, and decorating for every holiday.
She loved her family deeply, but there was no role she treasured more than being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Strength and determination were the hallmarks of her character. Laura's strong will saw her through life's challenges. Her memory will be a reminder of the power of love, laughter, and enduring strength.
Laura was preceded in death by her husband V.J. Cox; parents, Loren and Myrtle Booten; granddaughter, Kara Ross; and siblings, Raymond Booten, Shirley Edwards, Joanne Schrader and Francis Lewis.
She was survived by her children, Troy Cox (Connie) and Tischa Ross Collett (Scott); grandchildren, Sandra Bennett, Brittany Cox (John Gormley, II), Joseph Ross, Hunter Ross, Hannah Collett, Landon Collett and Hayden Ross; great-grandchildren, Brock Bennet, Carson Ross and Miller Ross; siblings, Lorraine Booten and Loren Booten; as well as beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and her special friends at Cameron Hall.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. www.alz.org
