Services for Laura McBride Davis, 88, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 1 p.m., Wednesday, November 26, 2025, at Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, with Bro. Billy Smith officiating.
Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, under the direction of Bartley Funeral Home.
Mrs. Laura Davis passed away on November 23, 2025, at her home. She was born on May 1, 1937, in Lavon, to Robert Lee and Ila Lee Jones McBride. Laura spent her early years in Greenville and graduated from Greenville High School, Class of 1954. She married James "Pete" Parker Davis on April 19, 1955, in Durant, OK.
She moved to Grand Saline 55 years ago and was a lifelong Baptist. For more than 50 years, she was a devoted member of Corinth Missionary Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and faithfully served her church family. She was especially committed to ministering to elderly shut-ins and helping provide meals within the community.
Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 37 years, James “Pete” Davis, Sr.; brother, Earl McBride; and sister, Harriet Drake.
Survivors include her three sons, James P. Davis Jr. and wife Sandra of Grand Saline, Coy Ray Davis and wife Myrna of Mesquite, Donald Lee Davis of Jacksonville; three daughters, Melanie Elaine Clark and husband Ron of Murphy, Terry Lynn Kvapil and husband Rick of Grand Saline, and Erna Fay Winkler and husband John of Bryan; two brothers, Harold McBride and wife Nancy of Greenville, and Mike McBride of Greenville; sister, Mary Bennet of Greenville; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be grandsons, Trey Davis, Andy Davis, Dean Phillips, Jamie Thompson, and Matt Thompson, and great-grandson, Walker Phillips.

The family will receive friends one prior to services on Wednesday at the church.
