Laura Louise Fincher, 93, passed away Friday, October 25, 2024. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, at Pecan Grove Funeral Home, with Pastor Jim Daniels officiating. Burial will follow at Rosemound Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 – 8:00 p.m., Thursday, October 31, at the funeral home.
Louise was born August 28, 1931, to Robert Lawrence Forde and Laura Lee Gibson Forde in Waco, Texas. She married Hugh David Fincher on August 28, 1949. She worked at Baylor University as a mail clerk after her husband deceased.
Louise was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brothers J.B. Markham,Jr., William Forde, Johnny Forde, and Orville Forde; sisters Gwendolyn Moore and Betty Jean Cook.
Louise is survived by her sister Nancy Sue Forde and brother James Elbert Forde; children: Vickie K Peebles (husband Joe) and Mark Wayne (Bird) Fincher; grandchildren Russell Lee Peebles (wife Gina) and Wrendy Sue Siegel (husband Chuck); great grandchildren Kelsie Breann Siegel, Marissa Danielle Siegel, Dylan Russell Peebles, and Austin Michael Peebles; and great-great granddaughter, Adira Jane Baker, along with many nieces and nephews.
Louise loved to cook and bake, play the piano, and enjoyed the outdoors camping at Fort Parker and going on hunting trips with family. She faithfully stood by the Baylor Bears and Cowboy football teams. She loved being around family and joking around with people.
The family would like to thank Compassus Hospice and Royal Manor Health Center and Nursing Home for Louise’s care.
