Laura Ellen Frilick, affectionately known as Laura or Mi Mi, was called home to glory on August 19, 2023. Born on March 19, 1957, in Buckeye, AZ, she was raised in Madera, CA, and spent her final years in Greenville, SC. A loving mother, sister, and grandmother, Laura was a beacon of faith and selflessness, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
The daughter of the late Charles and Loretta McJunkins, Laura grew up alongside her sisters, Lisa Murphy and Cynthia Moore, and her late brothers, Steve and Tom McJunkins. Her family was her rock, her foundation, and she carried their values and lessons throughout her life. She was a devoted mother to her son, Jack Frilick, and her daughters, Hillary and Brittany Frilick. Her love for her family extended to her grandchildren, Ryan Frilick, Kolby Wheeler, and Lauren Wheeler, who were the apples of her eye.
Laura's professional journey was as diverse as it was fulfilling. She served as a Veterinarian Assistant, nurturing her love for animals and their welfare. She also co-owned the Tri-State Tire Company, demonstrating her business acumen and entrepreneurial spirit. Laura was a woman of many talents and she used them to make a positive impact in her community and beyond.
She was a woman of simple pleasures. She found joy in the rustling leaves, the blooming flowers, and the melodious chirping of birds. Her love for nature was evident in her passion for gardening. She had a green thumb, and her garden was a testament to her patience and nurturing spirit. Laura also found solace in music, often losing herself in the rhythm and lyrics. She was an avid painter, creating beautiful pieces that reflected her perspective of the world. Fishing and beach trips were her favorite pastimes, where she found tranquility and peace.
Laura was a woman of unwavering faith. She believed in the power of love and kindness, and she lived her life as a testament to these virtues. Her selfless nature was evident in her actions, always putting others before herself. She was a beacon of hope and positivity, touching lives with her warmth and generosity. Laura was a loving soul, always ready with a comforting word or a helping hand. Her faith was her guiding light, and she lived her life as a testament to God's love and grace.
In the words of the scriptures, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Laura Ellen Frilick lived a life of service, love, and faith. She was a pillar of strength for her family, a loyal friend, and a devoted servant of God. Her memory will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her.
Even as we mourn her passing, we also celebrate her life. A life lived with purpose, with love, and with faith. Laura Ellen Frilick, our beloved Mi Mi, has found her eternal rest. May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may her legacy continue to inspire and guide us. Amen.
