Obituary for Laura Lee Kazmiroski
Laura Lee Kazmiroski, 79, of Pearland, Texas, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 3, 1946, in Pasadena, Texas, to Thomas and Velma Coleman.
Laura was a 1964 graduate of Pasadena High School and went on to earn her Bachelor of Arts from Sam Houston State University in 1968. She later achieved a Master of Science in Mid-Management from the University of Houston–Clear Lake. She married the love of her life, Pete Kazmiroski, and together they built a wonderful life devoted to family and community. Laura worked alongside Pete at Hi-Lo Auto Parts in Pearland before dedicating several years to the Humble and Clear Creek Independent School Districts, where she served as an Adapted Physical Educator, helping children reach their fullest potential.
Laura's life was filled with service, joy, and compassion. She was deeply involved in her children's activities through 4-H, FFA, livestock showing, and rodeoing. Her commitment extended to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, where she volunteered countless hours with the Top Hands Horse Show under the Special Children's Committee, as well as the Corral Club. She also volunteered for the Brazoria County Fair, particularly with the Breeding Chicken Committee and Ag Mechanics. In later years, Laura became an enthusiastic member of the Houston Ballet Guild/Nutcracker Market and devoted her time to the Alvin Youth Rodeo Association, running the concession stand for many years.
Her greatest passion, however, was her involvement with the Special Olympics, where she served as a certified coach in multiple sports. Through this work, she built lasting friendships that became like family. Laura cherished time with her grandchildren-whether attending rodeos, sporting events, or livestock shows. She loved sewing and dog-sitting with her sister Tommie Jean.
She is survived by her children, Shannon Kazmiroski and wife Amanda, John Kazmiroski and wife Denise, and Susan Kazmiroski; her grandchildren Harley, Mason, Maggie, Kiley, and Kandice; her great-grandchild, Nola; and her sister Tommie Jean Coleman.
She was preceded in death by her husband,Marion John "Pete" Kazmiroski, her parents, Thomas and Velma Coleman, and stepfather, Sterling Nance.
Laura will be remembered for her spirited personality, her dedication to others, and her unwavering love for her family and community.
Serving as pallbearers are Wade Baker, Paul Byars, Donnie Kilgore, Mason Kazmiroski, Bryce Dickerson and Andrew Van Winkle.
