Laura Beth Piteo Shea, a cherished and beloved figure, passed away in Paris, Kentucky, on November 8th, 2025. Born on May 10th, 1962, in Hartford, Connecticut, Laura's life was a rich tapestry of love, dedication, and passion.
Laura's lifelong journey was one of unwavering commitment to her family, including her devoted husband, Timothy Sean Shea, their loving children Michelle and Warren Shea, and the joyous addition of her grandchildren, Rylee and Chance Sean. Her maternal grace was a beacon of strength, reflecting the nurturing she received from her mother, Sandra Wilson Piteo. Laura carried on family traditions alongside her supportive brother Randy (Sharie) Piteo, and her memory will live on through the hearts of her nieces, nephews, and cousins, including Marissa Piteo. Her family's love was mirrored in Laura's enduring spirit, evermore in the absence of her late father, Michael Piteo, and brother, Justin Piteo.
Those who knew Laura were acquainted with a woman of extraordinary talent and dedication. She was a professional horse trainer at Cornerside Stables in Paris, KY, and her career spanned an impressive fifty years. Laura's grace and skill were legendary, particularly with her beloved thoroughbred mares, with whom she forged an unparalleled connection. Her admiration for the equine companions she trained was only matched by her love for her various cats and dogs, who were her steadfast companions at home.
Laura's interests blossomed far beyond the stables; she found peace in the simple pleasures of flower gardening, an expression of her love for natural beauty and growth. Her adventures also took her to the coastline, where she savored the tranquility of the beach, soaking in moments of quiet reflection and bliss.
Describing Laura requires words such as adventurous, selfless, and passionate-a fearless soul on horseback, and a selfless heart in life. Her journey was deeply intertwined with her faith, which inspired her approach to living with purpose and compassion.
Laura's remarkable existence was an inspiring testament to a life well-lived, an adventure beautifully ridden, and a love shared with unending generosity. Her spirit, embodied in the legacy she leaves behind, will forever gallop through the hearts of those who loved her. Laura Beth Piteo Shea's story is not one of an ending, but rather an eternal melody of memories cherished and a life celebrated by all who were fortunate enough to know her.
